With the drastic increase in the price of a gallon of gasoline, our volunteers are struggling to continue delivering meals.
Dee, one of our most faithful volunteers, drives eight miles into Tyler to volunteer with us. She then drives about 20 miles to deliver meals locally four days a week before driving eight miles back home. She is having to consider reducing her four days a week service schedule down to just two.
And she's not the only one.
This problem is affecting dozens of volunteers across East Texas in all six counties we serve while we simultaneously have already been facing a volunteer shortage in the cities of Tyler and Longivew the past few months.
Can you help keep volunteer gas tanks full?
Make a charitable donation today with the "2022 Volunteer Fuel Fundraiser" campaign and 100% of your donations will go directly to volunteer fuel tanks!
Together, we can keep our Meals On Wheels Ministry mission in motion! Nearly 3000 East Texas clients depend on our meal deliveries, safety checks, and friendly visits each day to remain in their own homes, nourished and checked in on each week.
Can our volunteers count on you?
